Dr Aly Damji – MBChB MRCGP (GP Partner)

Dr Damji qualified in 2009 from the University of Sheffield. He has an interest in commissioning and is the Wakefield CCG Network 6 Clinical chair and also West Wakefield Clinical Director. He is actively involved in training and has completed his PGCert in primary care education and is the Network 6 Education Lead.

Dr Damji works all day Monday, Wednesday and Friday

Dr Ashraf Jogi – MBChB MRCGP (GP Partner)

Dr Jogi graduated from the University of Leeds in 2008.

Dr Jogi works all day Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Dr Claire Johnston – MB Dip Geriatric Medicine DRCOG MRCGP DFRSH (GP Partner)

Dr Johnston qualified in London in 2002 with MBBS from Barts and the London School of Medicine, she went on to do a diploma in Elderly Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Family Planning.
She specialises in women’s health, elderly medicine and contraception. Dr Johnston also injects shoulder and knee joints.

Dr Johnston works all day Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Dr Sumaiyah Kola – MB ChB (GP Partner)

Dr Kola graduated from the University of Leeds in 2011. She also has a post graduate diploma in primary education.

Dr Kola graduated from the University of Leeds in 2011. She also has a post graduate diploma in primary education.

She has an interest in minor surgery, and is able to do cryotherapy as well as joint injections.

Dr Kola works all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dr Kola is currently on maternity leave.

Dr Mary Kemshell – MB ChB (GP Partner)

Dr Kemshell graduated from Leicester University in 1995 and came to work in Ossett at Prospect Surgery in 2005.

She is interested in mental health, palliative care and child health.

Dr Kemshell works Monday morning, all day Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dr Caroline McCormick – MB ChB DRCOG MRCGP (GP Partner)

Dr McCormick grew up near Blackpool and went to Leeds medical school in 1996, graduating in 2001.

Dr McCormick started GP training in 2002 in Wakefield and joined Church Street Surgery in September 2005. She has a special interest in diabetes and has been doing the diabetic clinics for the last 2 years.

Dr McCormick works all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dr Simon Dyson – MB – ChB (GP)

Dr Dyson qualified in 1984 and was a Partner at Church Street Surgery over 17 years, in August 2020 he decided to take a step back from the partner side of things but luckily for us to remain as a GP for 2 days per week.

Dr Dyson has a special interest in Ophthalmology and Mental Health.

Dr Dyson works all day Thursday and Friday

Dr Hesham Eldash – MB ChB (GP)

Dr Eldash qualified from Cairo University in 2014 and started practicing in the NHS in 2017

He has previous experience in surgery and has passed the MRCS examination before also completing MRCGP.

Dr Eldash works all day Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Dr Hannah El-Kholy MB- ChB (GP)

Dr El-Kholy qualified from the University of Leicester in 2016 and joined the practice in her final year of GP training in 2021

Dr El-Kholy works all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dr Fatima Khan – MB- ChB (GP)

Dr Khan is a newly qualified GP who completed her training this year in Wakefield.

She attended to Lancaster Medical school and graduated in 2016.

She work all day Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Dr Aisha Loonat – MB ChB (GP)

Dr Loonat graduated from Leeds University in 2008. She started training as a GP Registrar at Church Street surgery in 2013 and worked as a Salaried GP since 2016. She has an interest in Paediatrics.

Dr Loonat normally works on all day Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Dr Hafeeza Mamaniat  MB ChB (GP)

Dr Mamaniat qualified in 2014 from The University of Warwick. She works works all day Monday and Wednesday.

Dr Natasha Mistry – MB ChB (GP)

Dr Mistry has qualified from The University of Sheffield in 2013, and has joined the practice in 2017 in her final year of GP training. She has stayed at Ossett Surgery ever since.

Dr Mistry works all day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Dr Naomi Mitchell – MB ChB DFSRH (GP)

Dr Mitchell qualified from Leeds University in 2009 with a BA (Hons) in Healthcare Ethics & philosophy, and then in 2011 with MBChB. She went on to do a diploma in Family Planning. Dr Mitchell also injects shoulder and knee joints.

Dr Mitchell works all day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Dr Sophie Schwiebert BM BCh BA (GP)

Dr Schwiebert grew up in north Leeds and went to Oxford University for medical school. She first came to Ossett Surgery in 2018.

Dr Schwiebert works Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays only.

Dr Schwiebert is currently on maternity leave.

Dr Eleanor Taylor – MB ChB MRCGP DFSRH (GP)

Dr Taylor attended Leeds University and qualified in 2000. She has previous experience in general medicine and has passed the MRCP examination before also completing MRCGP.

Dr Taylor has a specialist interest in contraception and fits contraceptive implants and coils.

Dr Taylor works all day Monday, all day Wednesday and Thursday morning only

Dr Muhammad WattooMBBS, MRCGP (GP)

Dr Wattoo qualified in 2011 from Rawalpindi Medical College, Pakistan. He worked in UAE before joining NHS in 2018. He joined the practice in his final year of training in 2022.

Dr Wattoo works all day Tuesday and Friday.


GP Registrars:

GP Registrars are qualified doctors. They will have different amounts of experience but will have worked for at least 2 years in a hospital before they can train to become a GP; many will have a lot more experience. GP Registrars will join us in August and February each year and stay with the practice for 6 – 12 months.

Advance & Clinical Practitioners:


We are very lucky to have several very experienced advance and clinical practitioners to support and work alongside the GPs in their clinical remit, all are more than capable in dealing with any medical issue you may have, including referring to hospitals for further investigation, issuing prescriptions and organising sick notes if required.

GP Locums


From time to time we have to employ GP locums who are fully qualified general practitioners. They help us out during times of holiday, sickness and maternity leave cover.

Alongside ad-hoc support, we are grateful to currently have Dr Coe (m) providing more regular care on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday over the next few months.
